Football Club Museum & Honor Room
The Football Museum is a state-of-the-art exhibit inside a new arena in Guangzhou, China that features the team’s history and players through a highly interactive and curated experience.
The design began around 9 key experiences that included moments like a trophy room, virtual team locker rooms, on-field immersive experience, and team history, among some. The team proposed several innovative digital interactive experiences that were then vetted through a collaborative charrette with trusted digital content creators. The introduction of digital elements gives visitors extensive ways to explore at their own pace and offers variation in the content types and how it is engaged and displayed. Various kinds of interaction include dimensional installations, curated artifacts, and educational displays.
Facets reference the design of the stadium itself—a gem-like feature—which were used in select moments throughout the exhibit. Gold finishes represent luxury and opulence, while the red relates energy, fire, and the team identity. The core design concepts focus on the heroic players, color and movement to create drama and excitement and revering each aspect of the football club with symbols of greatness.
